Drug Formulation

1 white malachite gem, 1 cardamom pod (peeled), 14 Schisandra berries (peeled), 0.5 liang of selected cloves, 0.5 liang of aloe (finely ground), 0.5 liang of wood fragrant (finely chopped),half liang of realgar (water-floated), half liang of Zingiber officinale rhizome (lightly roasted and coarsely chopped), half liang of Coptis chinensis (the above 9 ingredients ground into a fine powder), half liang of white alum, half liang of green alum, and half liang of gallic alum.

Processing

Combine the three types of alum with 1 sheng of strong vinegar and 1 liang of pitted, cooked jujube pulp. Simmer slowly in a stone vessel over low heat until a thin paste forms. Then add the nine medicinal ingredients, continue simmering until thickened, and remove from heat. Coat a stone surface with a small amount of cooked oil, pound the mixture a thousand or so times, and shape into pills the size of mung beans.

Take 3–5 pills per dose, washed down with water made from aged glutinous rice before meals.
