2 qian 5 fen of Fangfeng, 2 qian 5 fen of Northern Asarum, 2 qian 5 fen of Scutellaria, 2 qian 5 fen of Gypsum, 2 qian 5 fen of Scrophularia, 2 qian 5 fen of Notopterygium, 2 qian 5 fen of Schizonepeta, 2 qian 5 fen of Raw Rehmannia, 2 qian 5 fen of Forsythia, 2 qian 5 fen of Phellodendron, 2 qian 5 fen of Licorice, 2 qian 5 fen of Angelica dahurica,White Chrysanthemum 2 qian 5 fen, Gardenia Seed 2 qian 5 fen, Chuanxiong 2 qian 5 fen, Stemona 2 qian 5 fen, Peppermint 2 qian 5 fen, Genuine Coptis 3 qian.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a coarse powder and place them in a large copper pot. Outside the pot, use 5 qian of licorice root to boil a large bowl of water. Mix the herbs thoroughly with the decoction. Then take 3 liang of camphor, crush it, and sprinkle it over the herbs in 5–7 separate batches. Cover the mixture with a large bowl. Next, mix gypsum with wheat flour and salt water until smooth,seal the rim of the bowl tightly to prevent air from escaping. Simmer for the duration of one incense stick burning before removing from heat. Use a bamboo spatula to scrape the elixir that has risen to the top of the bowl into the bowl. Mix the residue thoroughly with the licorice decoction, then sprinkle camphor over it again. Repeat this process of extracting the elixir 5–7 times until all the medicinal properties have been fully extracted. Finally, store the elixir securely in a porcelain bottle.
