Drug Formulation

Ephedra (knots removed) 5 qian, Apricot Kernels (moistened and peeled; boiled with white flint and black beans from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, then pounded into a paste) 27 pieces, Cinnamon Twig (bark removed) 3 qian, Licorice (top and tail removed, moistened with wine until bright yellow) 3 qian, Peony Root (coarse skin removed, steamed with honey water, sun-dried three times) 3 qian,Fresh Ginger (sliced) 3 qian, Asarum (from the North, soaked in melon water overnight, then sun-dried)3 qian 7 fen, Pinellia (less than half a he; mix white mustard seed powder with strong vinegar, add the Pinellia, wash until all the slime is removed, then rinse with water), Schisandra berries (select plump, large ones from the North; split into two pieces with a copper knife, soak in honey and steam from 15:00 to 17:00, then soak in whey overnight and bake dry) 49 grains, Dried ginger 3 qian.

Instructions for Use

Add 3 sheng of water to the ingredients above; first boil Ephedra for several boils, skim off the foam, then add the remaining herbs. Boil down to 1 sheng, strain out the residue, and divide into two doses to be taken warm. If the attack has not yet begun, take one dose warm to induce a slight sweat; once a sweat has been induced, stop and take the second dose afterward.
