1 dou of black beans.

Processing

Soak thoroughly, steam until tender in a steamer, spread out on a mat, and cover with lotus leaves or mugwort as in the method for making soy sauce. After seven days, when the beans have turned completely yellow, remove them, sun-dry, remove the yellow residue to make a powder, and mix with refined lard to form pills; a small amount of honey may be added.
