Drug Formulation

1 liang of Magnolia bark, 1 liang of Peony root, 1 liang of Belamcanda rhizome, 1 liang of Cnidium fruit, 1.5 liang of Angelica dahurica, 1.5 liang of Coptis (stems removed), 1 liang of Phellodendron bark (coarse outer bark removed), 1 liang of Scutellaria root (black core removed), 1 liang of Wolf’s tooth, 1 liang of Gardenia fruit, and 1 jin of lard.

Processing

Finely chop all the herbs (except the lard) into pieces the size of a sesame seed. First, heat the lard until it boils, then add the herbs and simmer. Continue until the Angelica dahurica turns yellowish-red. Strain through cotton to remove the residue, and store in a porcelain container.

Instructions for Use

Apply to the sore 3–5 times a day.
