Ox Bile and Tiger Pill,For acute stroke. Stiffness and rigidity of the body and back; locked jaw and loss of voice; tightness and spasms of tendons and vessels; dry nose and darkened face; intense fever throughout the body. Sweat like oil; wide-open eyes and blue lips; mental confusion and drowsiness; physical state resembling intoxication; phlegm and saliva obstructing the airways; a sound like a saw being dragged in the chest, diaphragm, and throat.Sores appear on the soles of the feet, extending downward to the big toe and upward to the outer ankle and malleolus. Each episode lasts about ten days; in the late afternoon and evening, the itching becomes severe, and scratching causes blood to flow like a spring, with unbearable pain. The symptoms gradually subside by midnight, only to recur the next day.

Drug Formulation

Aconite (roasted, peeled, and with the navel removed) 12 liang and a half; White Alum (calcined) 25 liang; Curcuma (ground) 25 liang; Aconite Root (washed in boiling water, roasted, ground into powder, mixed with ox bile to form cakes, and heated; if ox bile is unavailable, steam with medicinal wine for 7 days and nights) 25 liang;Starch (ground) 25 liang, Ox Bile (ground) 2.5 liang, Raw Borneol (ground) 5 liang, Gold Foil 800 pieces (as coating), Realgar (ground to a fine powder) 150 liang.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix with refined honey to form pills, making 10 pills from each 1.5 liang, and coat them with gold leaf.

Instructions for Use

Take one pill at a time, dissolve it in freshly drawn water, and administer it. Support the patient in a sitting position to allow the medicine to take effect. After a considerable time, grind another pill with fresh mint juice and administer it.Those who are obese yet physically weak, produce excessive saliva, or suffer from wind-related conditions should take this medicine regularly. Keep it on hand for emergencies: if you suddenly feel darkness before your eyes, chest tightness and confusion, or excessive salivation accompanied by a sensation of fainting—and there is no time to prepare the medicine—immediately chew one pill and wash it down with fresh well water. For sudden convulsions in children, a one-year-old should take one pill the size of a mung bean, dissolved in natural peppermint juice and administered orally.
