Drug Formulation

10 Spiny Beetles (remove the insects, lightly roast), 30 Whole Scorpions (de-toxify, roast), 20 Castor Beans (remove the husks, grind),1 pomegranate (large; remove seeds; place the first three ingredients inside; wrap in yellow clay to form a ball; roast over low heat until dry and red-hot; wait until the medicinal aroma permeates and the mixture turns red and cooked; allow to cool; remove the clay; grind finely; then add the following ingredients), 1 fen of white silkworm pupae (roasted to remove silk mouthparts),Tiannanxing (processed) 1 fen, Banxia (washed 7 times in boiling water to remove slipperiness), Bai Fuzi (processed) 1 fen, Frankincense 1 qian (ground separately).

Processing

Grind the last four ingredients into a fine powder; then add the frankincense and the charred herbs and grind them together until uniform.

Instructions for Use

For a six-month-old infant, administer 1 zi per dose; for a one-year-old, administer half a qian. Prepare a decoction of Schizonepeta and mix with 2–3 drops of wine before administration; take at any time.
