Drug Formulation

Tiger Tibia (fried with butter) 1 qian 6 fen, Turtle Plastron (fried with butter) 1 qian 6 fen, Sichuan Manchurian Tortoise Shell (fried until crisp) 1 qian 6 fen, Cinnabar 1 qian 6 fen, Yueyuehong (i.e., blood residue; made from a child’s hair shaved during the lunar month, calcined) 1 qian 5 fen,Cicada Shedding Powder 2 qian, Myrrh 1 qian 5 fen, Frankincense 1 qian 5 fen, White Fresh Bark 1 qian 5 fen, Realgar 1 qian 5 fen, Raw Cow’s Milk 1 qian, Ox Bile 5 fen, Earth Fritillary Bulb 2 qian, Agarwood 7 fen (select those that sink in water, are black in color, and have a sweet, fragrant aroma), Amber 7 fen.

Processing

Grind each of the above herbs into a fine powder. Use 5 qian of Shenqu powder to make a thick paste, mix in the herbal powders, and pound until uniform. Form into pills the size of a paulownia seed. Separately, grind cinnabar into a fine powder to use as a coating.

Instructions for Use

Take 15 pills every morning on an empty stomach and 10 pills every evening on an empty stomach, washed down with ginseng decoction; goji berry decoction may also be used. Reduce the dosage as the condition improves. If residual pathogenic factors remain, do not discontinue the medication.

Note

Strictly avoid physical exertion, anger, and restlessness; limit tea and alcohol to no more than three-tenths of the usual amount.
