Rhinoceros horn (crushed and calcined in a silver pot until red-hot) 1 liang; Strychnos nux-vomica 5 qian (chopped into small pieces; decoct the juice and quench the horn once with it).

Instructions for Use

Take 3 fen per dose, mixed with wine. Keep warm and sleep to induce a light sweat.

Note

This formula is effective when administered within three and a half days of the onset of the disease; if administered later, it may be too late. For milder cases, it may also be used on the sixth or seventh day.
