Drug Formulation
3 liang of clams (pale reddish-yellow ones; pound into pieces and wash clean), 1.5 liang of red-bud Euphorbia (wash clean), 2 liang of mountain arrowhead (wash), 1 liang of Xusui seeds (weigh after removing shells; grind finely; wrap in paper and press out the oil; then grind again until it resembles white frost), 3 fen of musk (ground).

Processing
First, roast the first three ingredients until dry, grind them into a fine powder, then add the musk and Xusui seeds and grind until evenly mixed. Form into pills using glutinous rice porridge, dividing each batch into 40 pills (prepare on the Dragon Boat Festival, the Seventh Night of the Seventh Month, or the Double Ninth Festival; if urgent use is required, the Chen day is also acceptable).

Instructions for Use
For boils and abscesses, or back sores that have not yet ruptured, grind the herb with ice water and apply it to the painful area; also grind it into a paste and ingest it. After a while, when itching is felt, the condition will dissipate immediately. For Yin and Yang toxins, typhoid fever with chest oppression, delirium and incoherent speech, chest and diaphragm congestion, pathogenic toxins that have not yet manifested, as well as epidemic diseases, mountain mists and miasmas, and laryngeal inflammation, add one small leaf of peppermint, grind it together with cold water, and ingest the mixture;For acute abdominal pain and epileptic disorders—such as screaming and running about—as well as “ghost fetus” and “ghost qi,” take it with warm wine free of ash; for those who have hanged themselves or drowned but whose heads remain warm, as well as those who died from fright or “rabbit-like stupor,” provided it has not been more than one night since death, grind it with cold water and administer it orally; for snake, dog, or centipede bites, grind it with cold water and apply it to the wound; for all types of malaria, regardless of whether the condition is new or chronic, when an attack is imminent, decoct peach and willow decoction and grind the mint into it before taking it;For acute and chronic convulsions in children, as well as the “Five Wasting Diseases” and “Five Dysentery Conditions,” grind the herb with small-leaf peppermint in honey water and administer; for lockjaw, grind one pill and apply it to the affected area, dividing it into three doses; if the pill is small, divide it into two doses, adjusting the amount according to the child’s size; for toothache, grind the herb with wine, apply it to the affected area, and hold a small amount in the mouth before swallowing; for scalds or burns, grind the herb with flowing water and apply it to the affected area; for injuries from blows or falls, roast pine knots and take them with ash-free wine;For chronic headaches near the temples, grind peppermint with wine, then apply the mixture to the temples using a paper flower;For all types of epilepsy—including facial asymmetry, twitching of the lips and eyes, excessive drooling during sleep, slurred speech, sudden stroke causing a locked jaw, clenched jaws, contracted tendons and veins, swollen joints, pain in the hands and feet, and difficulty walking—these are likely symptoms of wind-induced pain; grind the mixture with wine and take it orally.
