Ephedra (knots removed, finely ground, soaked in hot water, and juice extracted) 4 liang; Licorice (roasted, peel removed, soaked in warm water, and juice extracted) 4 liang; Red Peony Root (washed to remove soil, soaked in warm water, and juice extracted) 4 liang; Cinnabar 1 liang 5 qian (large red pieces, finely ground, and washed with water); Realgar (impurities removed, large bright red pieces, finely ground, and washed with water)1 liang 5 qian, Cimicifuga (lightly roasted, ground to a fine powder, soaked in warm water, and the juice extracted) 1 liang, Ginseng (root base removed, crushed, soaked in warm water, and the juice extracted) 1 liang, Angelica sinensis (root only, ground to a fine powder, soaked in water, and the juice extracted) 1 liang, Bupleurum (crushed, soaked in warm water, and the juice extracted) 1 liang.

Processing
Dry each ingredient in the shade, combine them in one container, mix thoroughly with warm water, and filter three times through fine silk. Pour the liquid into a porcelain jar, seal it with cotton paper, and store it in a dry, well-ventilated place. Allow it to dry in the shade, then grind it into a fine powder. Divide the powder into two portions. Just before use, mix one half with gypsum (finely ground and washed clean with water),Zhishi (finely ground, soaked in warm water, and strained) each 5 qian (for spring and summer); the other half is combined with Guizhi (finely ground, soaked in warm water, and strained) and Xixin (finely ground, soaked in warm water, and strained) each 5 qian (for autumn and winter). Form into pills the size of millet grains using vinegar paste.

Instructions for Use
Take 1 pill per dose. Place 5 fen of high-quality, bright realgar in a bowl and grind it finely; add well water and grind it together with the medicine, then swallow the mixture. Rinse the realgar with water, ensuring you consume it all. After taking the medicine, burn incense to a length of 3 cun; a natural sweat will break out, and the patient will be cured immediately. If a case of cold-induced fever has developed into a complicated syndrome after sweating, take 2 pills per dose; this will treat both internal and external conditions as well as the exterior, and the patient will recover naturally through sweating.
