Formulas Name : Divine Purple Gold Ointment

Chinese Name : 神仙紫金膏

Drug Formulation

1.5 jin of ginger (finely chopped with the skin on), 4 liang of soapberry (free of wormholes, finely chopped), 1 liang of Asarum (leaves and soil removed), and 1 liang of fragrant white angelica (chopped).

Source

From *Yang’s Family Prescriptions*, Volume 20.

Processing

Pound the ingredients into a paste, mix with river water to the proper consistency, and place the mixture in an iron pot that has been rubbed with lard on the inside. Cover the pot with a bowl, seal the cracks with damp paper strips, and then secure the seams with paper-fiber paste to prevent steam from escaping. Simmer over low heat for one fu. Press down on the base of the bowl with your hand—the pressure should be just enough to feel it through your hand. Remove the mixture, grind it into a fine powder, and store it in a porcelain container.

Instructions for Use

Each time, use a small stick to scoop up a small amount of the medicine. Rub it vigorously onto the area with white hair until it becomes warm; immediately pluck out the white hair, then rub the area again with the medicine. Stop when the skin feels warm. Any hair that grows back will be black and will never turn white again.
