Processing

Grind the ingredients into an extremely fine powder. Mix thoroughly, store in a porcelain jar, and seal the opening tightly with wax.

Benefits

For laryngeal inflammation, laryngeal obstruction, and unilateral or bilateral laryngeal edema.

Instructions for Use

For immediate use, take one small red date, remove the stem and pit, and cut open the pit end halfway toward the stem to prevent the medicinal properties from escaping. Place a soybean-sized amount of the mixture into the opening near the stem end of the date, then insert it into the nose. Instruct the patient to keep their mouth and eyes closed. After staying out of the wind for a short while, the patient will experience a runny nose, sneezing, or the discharge of pus. Rinse the throat with Honeysuckle and Licorice Decoction; the throat will immediately feel clear and unobstructed. Once the nose feels warm, remove the medicated jujube. For severe cases, replace it with another medicated jujube. As a general rule, insert the date into the affected side—left for a left-sided condition, right for a right-sided condition. For bilateral conditions, insert them alternately on both sides. However, in cases of throat wind or throat obstruction, men should insert it on the left side and women on the right.

Note

This remedy is contraindicated for throat pain caused by yin deficiency, for the physically weak, and for pregnant women.
