Formulas Name : Tong Shen Pie

Chinese Name : 通神饼

Drug Formulation

3 qian of licorice powder, 3 qian of mung bean powder, 3 qian of withered lotus leaf, half a qian of arsenic trioxide (raw), 1.5 qian of cinnabar, half a qian of potato starch, a small amount each of borneol and musk, 10 pieces of gold leaf, and 10 pieces of silver leaf.

Processing

Mix the above ingredients with honey to form pills the size of a paulownia seed, then shape them into cakes.

Benefits

Malaria.

Instructions for Use

For children aged one year, administer half a pill or one pill per dose; for older children, no more than two pills. Dissolve in well water or water decocted from peach or willow twigs, and take once daily. It may also be applied to the pulse point.

Note

Avoid hot or spicy foods and beverages.
