Drug Formulation

Raw Wu Sha 10 liang, Cimicifuga 3 liang, antelope horn 2 liang, rose root (sliced) 1 sheng, mugwort leaves 6 bunches (fresh is best), peony root 2 liang, Akebia 2 liang, raw rehmannia root (sliced) 5 he, pork lard 2 jin.

Instructions for Use

Coarsely crush the ingredients, wrap them in cotton, and soak in 1 sheng of vinegar overnight. Place them in the pork lard and simmer over low heat until all the vinegar has evaporated and the ointment is no longer runny; then strain out the residue. Wrap a thin layer of cotton around the ointment to form a ball the size of a large apricot kernel, place it in the throat, and swallow it slowly.
