Drug Formulation

Goose-tube Stone 2 liang, Cold-water Stone 4 qian and a half, Golden-stared Calcined Stone 7 qian (calcined until the flame dies out, then quenched in vinegar), White Aconite Root 7 qian, White Alum 7 qian (4 qian and a half of which has been calcined), Child’s Tea 4 qian, Tussilago Flower (with stamens removed) 7 qian, Powdered Licorice Root 4 qian.

Grind each of the above herbs into an extremely fine powder; mix them thoroughly using a large sieve.

Instructions for Use

For a feverish cough, take with tea broth; for a cold-induced cough, take with ginger broth; for a cough accompanied by edema, take with a decoction of papaya and Achyranthes root; for a cough with red phlegm or hemoptysis, take with a decoction of white mustard seed.
