Benefits

For children with “bianzheng” (a type of childhood fever), where the fever persists and is accompanied by symptoms of typhoid or warm-type fever, or where the fever does not subside after sweating; as well as for those with phlegm-mass in the abdomen, inability to take breast milk, vomiting or choking on milk, or epilepsy characterized by chills followed by fever.

Instructions for Use

For a 30-day-old infant, administer one pill the size of a sesame seed, washed down with a small amount of breast milk; after a short while, give a small amount of breast milk, but do not allow the infant to drink too much. By noon, the infant should have a mild bowel movement and the fever should subside; if the fever has not completely subsided, administer another pill the following morning. For a 100-day-old infant, administer one pill the size of a small bean; adjust the dosage accordingly. During the summer months, when heat is prevalent and rashes are encouraged, administering one dose every 20–30 days is optimal. Although the Purple Pill induces bowel movements, it does not cause weakness.
