Purple Aster Pollen Decoction,Excessive eating, or “exhausting one’s qi through shouting,” or consuming fried or stewed foods, causes pathogenic heat to injure the lungs, resulting in coughing, an itchy throat, copious phlegm, hemoptysis, shortness of breath, pain in the chest and flanks, and an inability to sleep peacefully.For cases where the ulceration site of a lung abscess has not yet healed, the pus has already drained, shortness of breath and fullness have subsided, and foul-smelling, turbid phlegm has cleared, but the patient still experiences coughing, a dry throat, coughing up blood-tinged sputum, and mild pain in the flanks, making it impossible to lie down for long periods.

Drug Formulation

1 liang of Aster Antler (washed), 1 liang of frost-kissed mulberry leaves, 1 liang of Tussilago flower, 1 liang of lily bulb (steamed and roasted), 1 liang of almonds (skinned and de-tipped), 1 liang of donkey-hide gelatin (stir-fried with clam powder), 1 liang of Fritillaria bulb (core removed), 1 liang of Polygonum pollen (stir-fried), 1 liang of Pinellia tuber (soaked in boiling water 7 times),Rhinoceros Horn (chopped) half liang, Licorice (roasted) half liang, Ginseng half liang.
