How To Make

Wash the Jixueteng, slice it, sun-dry it, place it in a cloth bag, tie the bag closed, and put it in a pot with the red dates. Add an appropriate amount of water, bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat and simmer until the liquid thickens. Remove the Chicken Blood Vine bag, and the drink is ready.

Efficacy

‌Nourishes and Activates Blood Circulation‌: Jixueteng promotes bone marrow hematopoiesis, while red dates are rich in iron and cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). When combined, they can alleviate symptoms of blood deficiency, such as pale complexion, dizziness, and fatigue. ‌

Regulating Menstruation and Relieving Pain‌: Jixueteng dilates blood vessels and improves pelvic blood circulation, helping to alleviate blood stasis-related issues such as scanty menstruation, dark-colored menstrual blood with clots, and dysmenorrhea; red dates harmonize the medicinal properties and mitigate the drying nature of Jixueteng. ‌

Improving Anemia‌: The iron and vitamin B12 in red dates are essential for red blood cell production, while Jixueteng polysaccharides stimulate the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells, providing supportive treatment for iron-deficiency anemia.‌‌

Indications

Suitable for all types of leukopenia.

Usage

Take in the morning and afternoon.

Commentary

Jixueteng acts as the chief herb, anchoring the herbal tea formula overall action. Jujubes (Da-zao) act as the coordinating (envoy) herb, working to tonify qi, nourish blood and calm the spirit, harmonize the formula and unite the separate actions into one. Collectively, the combination tonify qi, strengthen the spleen, increases white blood cell count, addressing the leukopenia pattern.
