Drug Formulation

1 liang of raw lead, 1 liang of mercury, 1 liang of calcined lead oxide, 1 liang of white alum, 1 liang of rock salt.

Processing

Grind all ingredients together until no traces of mercury remain visible; place the mixture in a Yangcheng jar, cover securely with an iron lid, tie tightly with iron wire, and seal with salt mud. Start with a gentle flame, then increase to a strong flame; after three sticks of incense have burned, let it cool completely before opening. Scrape the risen medicine from the lid, grind it finely, add borneol, mix thoroughly, and store. The heating process is the same as that for Hongsheng Dan.Always scrape the residue from the bottom of the pot after sublimation and grind it into a fine powder.
