Processing

Decoct the herbs in 1 liang of sesame oil until they turn black and charred; strain out the residue; add 1 liang of white wax or yellow wax and melt it; allow to cool, then stir until uniform to form the ointment. Adding frankincense, myrrh, dragon bone, dragon’s blood, catechu, or mercuric oxide yields even better results.
