Drug Formulation

1 he of fermented soybean cores, 1 fen of male rat feces (burned to ash, finely ground, and added later), 2 large bowls of children’s urine, half a liang of licorice (roasted until slightly reddish), 1 liang of softshell turtle shell (coated with vinegar, roasted until yellow, and with the frills removed), 1 liang of Bupleurum root (with the stems removed),2 fen of gardenia seeds, 7 pieces of black plum flesh (lightly roasted), 1 handful of peach pith, 1 handful of willow pith, 2 he of rehmannia juice (added later), and 1 fen of fresh ginger.

Instructions for Use

Soak the mixture in a child’s urine overnight; the next morning, decoct to yield 1 zhan and 2 fen, strain out the residue, add rat-dung ash and Rehmannia juice, stir until uniform, and divide into 3 doses: one on an empty stomach, one after a meal, and one in the late afternoon.
