Drug Formulation

3 liang of Isatis indigotica, 2 liang of Indigofera tinctoria leaves, 3 liang of Bamboo Shavings, 2 liang of Ophiopogon japonicus (core removed), 2 liang of Scutellaria baicalensis, 3 liang of Licorice (raw), 3 liang of Fructus Aurantii (pith removed), 3 liang of Lycium barbarum bark, 3 liang of Gentiana scabra (root tip removed), 2 liang of Rhinoceros Horn shavings, 3 liang of Scrophularia ningpoensis, 2 liang of Poria cocos (red),2 liang of Sichuan Cimicifuga, 2 liang of antelope horn (finely chopped; boil with 2 dou of water until reduced to 1 dou; strain and clarify), 2 liang of dragon’s teeth (finely ground), 2 liang of ox bile (finely ground), 1 liang of musk (finely ground), 5 liang of indigo powder (finely ground), and 10 jin of refined sodium nitrate.

Processing

Pour the decoction into a pot, add the refined sodium nitrate, and simmer over low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches the desired consistency. Add the dragon’s teeth, ox bile, musk, and indigo powder, stir until evenly mixed, and transfer to a porcelain container for storage.
