Drug Formulation

1 black hen, 3 liang of rhubarb, 3 liang of Asarum, 1 liang of ginseng, 1 liang of licorice (roasted), 3 liang of rehmannia, 1 liang of apricot kernels (skinned and split), 1 liang of horseflies, 2 liang of angelica, 1 liang of peony root, 1 liang of scutellaria, 2 liang of peach kernels (skinned and crushed), and 20 jujubes.

Instructions for Use

Prepare the black chicken as described in the dietary instructions; boil the chicken in 2 dou of water until reduced to 1 dou. Coarsely chop all the herbs, add them to the chicken broth, and boil further until reduced to 3 sheng; then strain out the residue. For patients with severe cold-heat obstruction and severe stagnation, take an initial dose of 5 he, twice daily. By the end of the evening, the decoction should induce a bowel movement.

Note

Eat congee and avoid other foods.
