Drug Formulation
1 qian of black pepper (ground), 1 qian of roasted ginger, 1 qian of cassia bark, 10 cloves (crushed).

For children with inherently deficient vital energy, chronic unresolved illness, post-smallpox or measles, or accidental ingestion of cooling herbs, resulting in diarrhea and vomiting that has progressed to chronic convulsions; this formula clears heat and dispels wind, with the condition becoming more critical as treatment progresses.
Instructions for Use
Combine the above four ingredients with 3 liang of hearth-center soil. Boil in water until the liquid is perfectly clear, then reduce to about half a teacup’s worth. Administer frequently. If vomiting gradually subsides after 1–2 doses, this confirms the efficacy of the formula. Follow with the Modified Lizhong Rehmannia Decoction.
