Drug Formulation

Cloves 5 qian, Frankincense 2 qian 5 fen, Cinnamon Bark (inner part) 2 fen 5, Ginseng 2 fen 5, Shenqu 2 fen 5, Chuanxiong 7 qian 5, Chebulic Myrobalan 7 (pitted), Croton Seeds 14 (soaked in water overnight until mushy), Cardamom Seeds 2, Guang Atractylodes 7 fen 5.

Processing

Except for the croton seeds, all ingredients are used raw. Grind them into an extremely fine powder, mix thoroughly with the croton seed paste, store in a porcelain container, and seal tightly.

Instructions for Use

For each dose, take one and a half copper coins’ worth of the mixture. Have the patient—men on the left, women on the right—place the medicine on their tongue, mix it with rice soup to form a thin paste, and lick it up. After lying down for a short while, wash it down with thin rice porridge. Patients with chronic conditions may take two doses; those with acute conditions, one dose.

Note

Avoid raw and cold foods, hard foods, greasy foods, wet noodles, salt, vinegar, and similar items; consume only plain rice porridge for one hundred days. Pregnant women must not take this formula.
