Formulas Name : Decoction of Tilia Twigs

Drug Formulation
3 jin of tender Zhe branches, 5 jin of burdock root, 20 pomegranates(crushed with the peel; if unavailable, substitute with 2 jin of branches), 2 fresh wood apples (finely sliced with the peel; if fresh ones are unavailable, use double the amount of dried ones as a substitute), 5 liang of white mulberry root bark (if unavailable, substitute with finely chopped mulberry branches), 3 liang of antelope horn shavings,3 liang of fresh ginger (finely sliced), 1 liang of black chicken droppings, 3 liang of black snake (soaked in wine, with skin and bones removed, and lightly roasted until pale yellow), 1 liang of Gastrodia elata, 1 liang of Notopterygium incisum, 1 liang of Saposhnikovia divaricata (with root tip removed), 1 liang of Cinnamomum cassia bark, 1 liang of Tribulus terrestris, 1 liang of Epimedium, and 1 liang of Aconite root (raw, with skin and pith removed).

Processing
Finely chop the Cinnamomum cassia twigs and Arctium lappa root among the above herbs. Add 5 dou of water and simmer until the Arctium lappa root is soft and the liquid has reduced to about 2 dou. Strain out the residue, clarify the liquid, and then decoct the six ingredients—from pomegranate peel to black chicken droppings—until the volume is reduced to 5 sheng.strain out the residue. Grind the eight ingredients starting with Black Snake into a fine powder, add them to the previous decoction, then add 2 sheng of fine wine and 1 sheng of white honey. Simmer over low heat, stirring constantly with a willow wood spatula until the consistency is just right, then transfer to a porcelain container.

Instructions for Use
Take 1 teaspoon per dose, mixed with warm wine on an empty stomach and before dinner.
