Drug Formulation

10 sparrow-nest-shaped clay pots (containing material), 1 liang toad head (coated with butter and roasted until dark yellow), 1 fen pig’s-tooth soapberry (peeled, coated with butter and roasted until dark yellow, seeds removed), 1 fen Gastrodia elata,half fen of Lepidium (stem removed), half liang of black snake (soaked in wine, skin and bones removed, roasted until yellow), 1 fen of dried scorpion (lightly roasted), 1 fen of melon seed pod, 1 fen of Tiannanxing (cracked by roasting), 1 fen of Qingdai (finely ground), 1 fen of cinnabar (finely ground), 1 fen of borneol (finely ground), 1 fen of realgar (finely ground),1 fen of musk (finely ground), 1 fen of talcum powder, 1 fen of the spines from the head of a qu-tou thorn, 1 fen of dung beetle (lightly roasted, wings and legs removed), 1 fen of bear bile, 1 fen of ox gallstone (finely ground), and half a fen of Pinellia (washed 7 times in boiling water to remove slipperiness).

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder and form into pills the size of mung beans using pig bile as the binder.

Instructions for Use

Administer 1 pill at a time, dissolved in warm ginger decoction, and instill it into the nostrils; after the child sneezes, administer 3 pills with a decoction of ginger and mint.
