Drug Formulation
Southern Frankincense (chopped coarsely, placed on a paper-lined pan, roasted until dry, and ground into a fine powder), Poppy Capsules (top, pulp, and fibers removed; chopped, roasted until dry, and ground into a fine powder),Licorice (wrap in damp paper and roast, then dry in an oven and grind into a fine powder), Wu Bai Zhi (wrap in flour and roast, remove the flour, dry in an oven, and grind into a fine powder), Chuanxiong (wrap in damp paper and roast, then dry in an oven and grind into a fine powder).

Instructions for Use
Adjust the formula according to the condition of the sore: If the sore is red, swollen, hot, and large, first take one dose of the “Miraculous Support-the-Inner-Qi Powder” and rest under a blanket to induce a light sweat;if the red halo is extensive, the swelling is prominent, and the ulcer head has white pus spots the size of broken rice grains, take one dose of Jiaojia Powder: prepare one dose using 4 fen of Wood Fragrance, 2 qian 2 fen of Poppy Shells, 6 fen of Licorice, 1 qian 4 fen of White Angelica, and 1 qian 5 fen of Chuanxiong. Combine these ingredients with 7 fen of water and 3 fen of raw white rice wine,for a total of 1 bowl. Decoct in a silver vessel until reduced to 8 fen; if no silver vessel is available, new porcelain is acceptable, but do not use old copper or iron vessels. Bring to a boil 5–7 times over a charcoal fire, then wring out a fine silk cloth that has been moistened with the decoction to remove excess water, strain out the residue, and take the decoction after a meal. Consume it with pickled vegetables to settle the stomach, apply the residue to the sore, and wrap the area with a silk cloth;If nausea or vomiting occurs, immediately take one dose of Hu Xin San to stop the vomiting, followed by the previous medicine; if there is distension in the chest or abdomen, or if urination or defecation is obstructed or difficult, take one dose of Dang Gui Lian Qiao San. After 5–7 doses, use warm rice porridge broth to replenish and alleviate symptoms;If the sore has already formed and is oozing pus without signs of cold or heat, but is merely festering and painful, take 3 fen of Wood Fragrance, 6 qian of Licorice, 1.5 qian of Sichuan Lovage, 1.4 qian of White Angelica, and 2 qian of millet husks, combined with 5 fen of water and 5 fen of wine; boil until reduced to 8 fen and take the decoction;If the red rash persists, take one dose of medicine each evening and consume 4–5 doses of Jiaojia Powder; you may also take one dose of Danggui Lianqiao Powder. To promote bowel movements, add rhubarb; if there is only heat and no abdominal distension, do not use rhubarb;If the sore is nearly healed but necrotic tissue has not sloughed off, use a needle to puncture the skin to allow the pus to drain. Wash the area with a decoction of Safflower root, then apply Shengji Powder topically. Wash once daily.
Note
Avoid sour and spicy foods, noodles with sauce, gas-producing foods, and raw or cold foods.
