Drug Formulation

1 dasheng of hemp seeds (soak in water, select those that sink, strain, and sun-dry).

Processing

Roast the above ingredients in a silver vessel, stirring constantly over low heat until fragrant and thoroughly cooked. Transfer to a wooden mortar and have three or two people take turns pounding it 1–2 times, continuing until the total number of strokes reaches 10,000. Stop when the mixture is extremely fine, like white powder, and divide it evenly into 10 doses.

Instructions for Use

For each dose, take one large porcelain soup bowl of homemade, ash-free liquor. Using a sandstone mortar and a willow wood pestle, grind the hemp powder with the liquor, straining to extract the clear liquor as you go until all the hemp powder is used up; discard the remaining husks. Combine all the liquor in one container, boil it down to half its volume, and wait until it reaches a suitable temperature. Take the entire dose on an empty stomach. Take one dose daily; once the medicine is finished, the patient will be completely cured.
