1 jin of gallnuts (cracked open and with the larvae removed).

Processing

Take 4 liang of Liu’an tea, boil it down to a concentrated decoction, and steep the gallnuts in it for half a month. When white fuzz appears on the gallnuts, remove them, grind them into a paste, and add the following to each liang of gallnut paste: 2 qian of white borax, 4 qian of genuine Sichuan fritillary bulb, 4 qian of genuine persimmon frost, 3 qian of catechu, 3 qian of licorice root, 2 qian of black plum, and 2 qian of peppermint. Grind each ingredient into an extremely fine powder, mix them with the gallnut paste, and knead with refined honey to form pills the size of a longan seed.

Instructions for Use

When applying to the eyes, place one pill in the mouth to dissolve.
