Drug Formulation
10 liang of lotus pistils (avoid sulfur and garlic), 10 liang of stone lotus seeds (use only the pure powder), and 10 liang of water caltrop seeds (remove the seeds and inner core, pound into a paste, sun-dry, then pound again and sift to obtain pure powder).

Processing
Take 3 jin of golden rose hips—select those that are half-yellow after the frost has set—and pound them in a wooden mortar with a pestle, taking care not to damage the spines. Split them into two pieces, rinse thoroughly to remove any water, and pound until pulpy. Place in a large pot and simmer in water over constant heat. When the liquid has reduced by about half, remove from heat, strain, and simmer again until it reaches the consistency of thin syrup;If using commercially available dried fruit, roast it, soak it in water to loosen the seeds, remove the seeds, and decoct according to the method above. Mix in the previously prepared powdered medicine to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed.
