Chinese Name : 桃枝当归膏
Drug Formulation
Angelica root (remove fine tips, wash off soil, dry) 1 liang; apricot kernels (soaked in hot water, remove skin and tips) 100 pieces; plump, tender willow twigs 3.5 liang (cut into pieces about one cun long, washed with water, dried); plump, tender peach twigs 1.5 liang (cut into pieces about one cun long, washed with water, dried); yellow丹 (water-floated) 6 liang; sesame oil 1 jin.

Processing
First, heat the oil until hot. Add the peach and willow twigs and simmer until half-charred. Wrap the angelica and apricot kernels in cotton and simmer until the peach and willow twigs are blackened and charred. Remove the herbal residue, strain the oil thoroughly, and scrape out any remaining impurities from the pot. Return the oil to the heat and bring to a boil. Gradually add the orpiment, simmering until the mixture does not disperse when dropped into water, or until it does not seep through when spread on paper.
