Drug Formulation

Coptis chinensis, realgar (finely ground), and night-blooming sand (finely ground), each in equal parts; 1 pig’s gallbladder; a small amount of musk (not added to the gallbladder during boiling).

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder. Mix the powder with pig gall juice to achieve the desired consistency, then place the mixture back into the original gallbladder membrane. Tie the opening tightly with thread. Boil in rice-washing water for 5–7 boils, then remove and let cool. First, grind the musk finely in a mortar; then add the medicine and grind them together (do not use the gallbladder membrane; remove the medicine only). Once finely ground, shape into pills the size of a hemp seed using soft rice.

Instructions for Use
