Drug Formulation

1.5 liang of Angelica sinensis, 1.5 liang of Cinnamomum cassia bark, 1.5 liang of dragon’s tooth, 1.5 liang of Evodia (preferably authentic Tiantai variety), 1.5 liang of Amomum villosum, 1.5 liang of Eucommia ulmoides, 1.5 liang of Acorus tatarinowii, 1.5 liang of Evodia rutaecarpa, 0.3 fen of Poria cocos (with the core removed),3 fen of Sichuan Achyranthes, 3 fen of Gentiana, 3 fen of Asarum, 3 fen of Bitter Platycodon, 3 fen of Pinellia, 3 fen of Saposhnikovia, 3 fen of White Peony, 1 liang of Dried Ginger (half raw, half roasted), 1 piece of Aconite (weighing 8 qian; make a hole in the center of the navel the size of a soapberry, insert 1 qian of cinnabar, wrap in damp flour, and bake),2 liang Sichuan pepper (soaked in hot water for half a day, then baked),1 large slice of oyster shell (must be sourced from Zhangzhou or Quanzhou; soak in the urine of a schoolboy for 49 days, changing the urine every 5 days; remove and coat thoroughly with 1 liang of sulfur powder and rice vinegar; wrap in rice paper; soak the paper in rice vinegar until damp; cover with a thick layer of salt mud; let dry; calcine with 5 jin of charcoal; add 2 liang to each batch of medicine; reserve the remainder for future use).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Separately grind Aconite and cinnabar into a fine powder. Mix with glutinous rice paste to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed.
