Chinese Name : 赤金膏
Drug Formulation
Sea squirt (boiled in river water 7 times until extremely pale inside and out) 2 qian, white borax 2 qian, calamine (calcined until red, then quenched in children’s urine 7 times) 3 qian, borneol 1 qian, gentian herb 2 liang (wash thoroughly with water, place in a porcelain pot with 5 zhong of water, decoct until reduced to 2 zhong, strain, then simmer until it becomes a paste).

Processing
Mix the Gentiana paste with the preceding ingredients and grind them evenly into a consistency resembling incense sticks; coat the exterior with palace powder and store in a goose-feather tube.

When using, dip a bone hairpin in the medicine and apply it to the affected area.
