Drug Formulation

5 liang of Rheum officinale, 5 liang of Achyranthes root, 3 liang of sodium carbonate, 3 liang of peony root, 3 liang of licorice root, 3 liang of Aster tataricus, 1 liang of red ochre, 2 liang of peach kernels, 2 liang of horseflies, 2 liang of leeches, 2 liang of dried ginger, 2 liang of Asarum, 2 liang of sodium silicate, and 5 he of hemp seeds.

Instructions for Use

Boil with 1 dou 5 sheng of water until reduced to 5 sheng; strain out the residue, add the sodium sulfate and dissolve it completely. Divide into 5 doses, beginning at the fifth watch, with each dose spaced one cooking interval apart. Rest and recuperate after the purgation.
