Drug Formulation

Pepper seeds, Gan Sui, Euphorbia, Cuscuta flower, Scrophularia, red adzuki beans, white bark of mulberry root, Zeqi, croton seed, and Lepidium—each in equal parts.

Processing

Of these 10 ingredients, depending on where the disease first manifests, increase the dosage of the corresponding herb by 1 fen; add 4 fen of croton seed (with the inner skin removed). Grind into a powder, mix, and sift; then mix with refined honey to form pills the size of a paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 3 pills per dose. The treatment is complete once a bowel movement occurs. If no bowel movement occurs, taking 3 doses daily is also acceptable. It may also be taken as a powder, using half a qian bi per dose. If a bowel movement occurs, repeat the dose as directed the following morning; after a second dose, the illness will be cured.
