Drug Formulation

Ephedra 3 liang (knots removed), gypsum 2 liang, Ligusticum wallichii 1 liang, fresh ginger 3 liang, Scutellaria baicalensis 1 liang, licorice 1 liang (roasted), Paeonia lactiflora 1 liang, Cinnamomum cassia 1 liang, Prunus mume seeds 3 liang (skins removed), Saposhnikovia divaricata 1 liang, apricot kernels 40 pieces, Angelica sinensis 1 liang.

Instructions for Use

Boil Ephedra in 9 sheng of water, skim off the foam, add the remaining herbs, and boil until reduced to 3 sheng. Divide into 4 doses. The first dose is intended to induce sweating; dust the patient’s inner clothing with rice flour.

Note

Avoid seaweed, Chinese cabbage, and raw green onions.
