Drug Formulation

1 liang of purified borax, 3 qian of genuine dragon’s blood (test by rubbing it on a fingernail; if it penetrates the nail, it is genuine; if it has a fishy odor, it is sea mother’s blood—do not use),3 qian of genuine catechu, 3 qian of licorice (peeled), 2 qian of pure realgar (large, bright red chunks are best; do not use if it has a foul odor), 1.5 qian of Corydalis root powder, 1 qian of straight silkworm pupae, 1 qian of large camphor, and 4 fen of natural musk.

Grind each of the above herbs into an extremely fine powder.

Instructions for Use

Weigh the ingredients accurately, place them in a mortar, and grind them together; then add dragon’s blood powder and mix thoroughly.
