Drug Formulation

2 liang of black snake, 1 liang of aconite root (raw, with skin and navel removed), 1 liang of dried scorpion, half a liang of Fangfeng (with root tip removed), half a liang of Angelica sinensis, half a liang of Angelica dahurica, half a liang of red peony root,half liang of Gaoben, half liang of Pinellia, half liang of Asarum, half liang of Du Huo, half liang of Chuanxiong, half liang of White Silkworm, half liang of Evodia, half liang of Sichuan Pepper (seeds removed), half liang of Cinnamon Bark, and 6 liang of Beeswax.

Processing

Finely chop the ingredients. Simmer them in 2 jin of refined lard from a pig slaughtered in the 12th lunar month over low heat until the Angelica dahurica turns reddish-black. Filter through cotton to remove the residue, add the beeswax and allow it to melt, then pour the mixture into a box for storage.

For wind-induced swelling, take a small amount and rub it until warm, three times a day.
