Guangfu Longevity Pill

Formulas Name : Guangfu Longevity Pill

Chinese Name : 广福延龄丹

Drug Formulation

Cinnabar 2 liang (ground to a powder), Realgar 2 liang (ground to a powder), Ginseng 2 liang, Poria cocos 2 liang (black skin removed), Atractylodes macrocephala 4 liang, Frankincense 4 liang (finely ground).

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder, mix thoroughly, and place in a silver vessel. Mix with honey to form a thin paste, seal the opening with oiled cloth, and wrap the exterior of the vessel with a mixture of water and wheat flour, making the layer about two fingers thick. Steam daily over a pot of rice; once the rice is cooked, remove the mixture. Continue this process for half a month; if the mixture dries out, add more honey. Roll into pills the size of a paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 20 pills per dose on an empty stomach, washed down with warm wine.

Note

Avoid sheep’s blood.
