Drug Formulation
4 liang of Aconite (peel removed; soaked in boiling water 14 times; covered with a bowl for a long time; sliced; and dried in an oven).

Processing
Grind the above ingredients into an extremely fine powder. Mix with a paste made from Shenqu to form pills the size of a pea.
Benefits
If chills precede fever, it is called “cold malaria”; if there are only chills without fever and the complexion is dark, it is called “collapsed malaria”; if chills predominate over fever, with a sallow complexion and abdominal pain, it is called “spleen malaria”: all three conditions are treated with this formula.
Instructions for Use
Boil 5 qian of aged ginger, 5 jujubes, and 3 scallion bulbs to make a decoction; take 30 pills with this decoction two shichen before the onset of malaria. Recovery usually occurs after one dose; at most, two doses are needed, and there are no cases where it fails to work. The malaria will not recur.
Note
Refrain from eating or drinking for 3 shí after taking the medicine.
