Drug Formulation

4 liang of pure sesame oil, 3 liang of beeswax, 3 qian of copper green, 3 fen of mercury oxide, 3 wen of ancient copper coins, 7 fresh peach branches, and 7 fresh willow branches.

Processing

Prepare on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month. First, bring the sesame oil to a boil 3–5 times; add the beeswax and copper coins and simmer until the mixture thickens. Add the copper green and stir continuously with the peach and willow branches until the mixture becomes thick enough that a drop of liquid forms a bead when held up. Add the mercury oxide and simmer for one more boil. Filter through paper to remove impurities, transfer to a porcelain bowl, and allow to solidify. Sweep the ground clean, place the bowl on the ground overnight to remove any fire toxicity.

Instructions for Use

For each application, shape the mixture into a thin cake according to the size of the sore, place it on a felt pad, and apply it to the affected area. Secure it with silk cloth. After 3 days, remove it, flip the felt pad to the other side, and reapply for another 3 days. After changing the dressing, repeat the process as before.
