Chinese Name : 葱白七味饮

Drug Formulation

White part of scallions (with roots, sliced) 1 sheng, dried kudzu root (sliced) 6 he, fresh fermented soybeans 1 he (wrapped in cotton), fresh ginger (sliced) 2 he, raw Ophiopogon tuber (core removed) 6 he, dried Rehmannia root 6 he, labor water 8 sheng (this water has been stirred with a ladle 1,000 times).

Benefits

Recurrence of Lao Syndrome following recovery from an epidemic disease presents symptoms identical to those in the early stages of typhoid fever; after recovery from typhoid fever, the balance of yin and yang shifts, and Lao Syndrome recurs as before.

Instructions for Use

Decoct the above ingredients in the “Lao Water,” reducing the volume by two-thirds. Strain out the residue, divide the decoction into three doses, and take them warm, spaced 8–9 li apart. If you feel the urge to sweat, gradually cover yourself.

Note

Avoid Wu-yi.
