Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder, pack it tightly into a porcelain bottle, and cover it with roasted salt to expel any dampness. Seal it according to the method: place it in a cauldron; first melt half a jin of lead beneath the cauldron, secure the medicine jar with an iron chain, then melt more lead and pour it into the cauldron so that the jar is submerged. After sealing, place it in an ash furnace and nurture the lead with fire; maintain a constant heat as an indicator. Continue this for 100 days, then remove it from the cauldron. Nurture it over a low flame for 3 days; after the days are up, calcine it over a high flame until it turns reddish, then stop. Allow it to cool, remove it—it will resemble amber.Use cold spring water to remove the fire toxicity, then finely grind it into a powder and form it into pills the size of mung beans using date pulp.
