Drug Formulation

Sichuan Fritillary Bulb (core removed, ground raw) 1 liang; White Angelica Root (roasted) 1 liang; Fangfeng (roasted) 1 liang; Cuttlefish Bone (soaked in light brine, rinsed clean, and shell removed) 1 liang; Angelica Root (stir-fried) 1 liang; Sichuan Lovage Root (stir-fried) 1 liang;Honeysuckle (sun-dried) 1 liang, Pollen (sun-dried) 1 liang, Pinellia (processed with ginger juice, stir-fried) 1 liang, Southern Star (processed with ginger juice, stir-fried) 1 liang 5 qian.

Processing

All herbs should be kept whole; stir-fry them in a clay basin, then pound them into a fine powder using a wooden pestle in a stone mortar. Sift thoroughly, weigh the exact amount, and divide into 21 doses.

For chronic ulcers and extensive sores; cases where accidental ingestion of mercury or bismuth has caused the throat to rot and the nose to collapse, accompanied by aching in the joints and bones throughout the body, or where the affected areas are severely decayed and no other medications have been effective.

Instructions for Use

Take 5 qian per dose. Each day, use 1 jin of fresh Poria cocos; avoid contact with iron utensils. Pound it into a fine powder in a stone mortar, place it in an earthenware jar, and add 12 rice bowls of river water. Simmer until reduced to 6 bowls, strain out the residue, add 5 qian of the medicinal powder, and simmer again until reduced to 3 bowls. Take 1 bowl each in the morning, at noon, and in the evening. Continue this regimen for 63 days to achieve results.

Note

While taking this medicine, avoid all salty foods; when decocting the medicine, avoid using any gold, silver, copper, iron, or tin utensils.
