Drug Formulation

Tiantai Wuyao half liang, Mu Xiang half liang, Aniseed (roasted) half liang, Green Tangerine Peel (white pith removed) half liang, Liangjiang (roasted) half liang, Areca Nut (chopped) 2 pieces, Sichuan Melia Fruit 10 pieces, Croton Seed 70 grains.

Processing

First, lightly crack the croton seeds; stir-fry them with the Chinese toon seeds in wheat bran until blackened. Discard the seeds and bran; grind the remainder into a fine powder.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 qian per dose, washed down with warm wine; for severe pain, it may also be taken with stir-fried ginger and hot wine.

Note

Contraindicated in cases of dry throat, bitter taste in the mouth, red eyes, restlessness and fever, painful urination caused by damp-heat, or symptoms of yin deficiency with excessive fire. This formula is not suitable for treating qi hernias with deficiency patterns, scrotal swelling with one-sided pain, or episodes that occur unpredictably.
