Instructions for Use

Fill a porcelain bottle with ash-free wine. Slowly heat the bottle from the outside using a fire fueled by rice bran for about one hour. Stir the mixture with a silver utensil until hot. Have the patient drink as much as they can, continuing until they are intoxicated. Wait until the patient falls asleep, then cover them thickly with clothes and blankets to induce sweating; the patient will recover on their own.For every 2 sheng of wine, use half a liang of cinnabar and 2 zhu of musk; if the patient can only drink 1 sheng, use 1 fen of raw cinnabar and 1 zhu of musk. Once the patient’s mind has settled, administer a heart-tonifying formula, and the condition will be cured.
