Drug Formulation

1 liang of powdered Chinese yam, 1 liang of powdered peony bark, 2 liang of Phellodendron bark (fried with wine, ground into powder), 2 liang of powdered Cimicifuga, 1 liang of powdered Angelica sinensis (washed with wine), 1 liang of powdered Scrophularia, 1 liang of powdered Pueraria root, and 1 liang of Coptis (fried with wine, ground into powder).

Processing

Separately, take 1 liang of Anemarrhena rhizome and 2 liang of hawthorn pulp; decoct into a concentrated broth, strain out the residue, and use the clear liquid to cook Pueraria root starch into a paste. Additionally, take 1 zhan of glutinous rice, mash it thoroughly, mix it with the Pueraria root paste until uniform, and blend in the above eight powdered ingredients to form pills the size of mung beans. Coat them with cinnabar that has been washed with water and sun-dry.

Take 3 qian per dose, washed down with plain hot water after meals.

Note

Avoid all rich, greasy foods, as well as ginger, garlic, pepper, and other spicy substances.
